The Rose Tattoo Garden Party & Fundraiser Celebrating Tennessee Williams
This fundraiser is the kick-off event for the March 2024 Tennessee Williams Key West Festival. It is being held in the garden at 1207 Whitehead Street, residence of Dennis Beaver, Curator of the Museum, and Bert Whitt. All proceeds go to the Tennessee Williams Museum.
In keeping with this year’s The Rose Tattoo party theme, we encourage guests to don their red rose apparel. Judges will award prizes for the most creative interpretation. There will be an open bar featuring the cocktail The Rose Tattoo and an abundance of delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared on site with a southern flair.
The evening’s The Rose Tattoo theme recognizes Williams’ genius in writing this play during his time in Key West – a work that won a prestigious Tony Award during its Broadway run. After its Broadway run, Williams oversaw filming of his award-winning adaptation of The Rose Tattoo in Key West in the early 1950s.
